How do we split the restaurant bill fairly?
Split by what each person actually ordered, then share tax and tip in the same proportion. Equal splitting is fine when everyone ordered similarly, but it quietly overcharges the person who had a salad and water.
Does everyone pay for their own food?
At a ToShareAMeal table, usually yes. The table agrees an approach in advance, and once the table is ready that agreement is locked so it cannot change at the restaurant.
How do we handle shared dishes and drinks?
Assign a shared dish to the people who ate it and this tool divides it between them, so one bottle of wine is not charged to the whole table.
