How it Works (NYC)
ToShareAMeal coordinates small group meals at public restaurants across NYC neighborhoods. It’s food-first and not a dating app.
Plain English: Join a meal. Show up. Share dishes if you want. Split the bill AA. Leave anytime.
Step-by-step
- Browse meals by neighborhood and time.
- Join a meal (membership required to join/create).
- Meet at the public restaurant at the listed time — no DMs needed.
- Keep it food-first. Conversation is optional. This is not a date.
- AA split by default. If someone doesn’t pay, report it privately after.
- After the meal, rate the restaurant publicly and optionally submit private safety feedback.
Group-first by default
Most meals are 3–4 people. This lowers pressure and improves comfort—especially for women and solo travelers.
Two-person meals may appear when availability is low, with extra safeguards described on the Safety page.
What you can always do
- Leave anytime. No explanation required.
- Keep boundaries. No flirting pressure or pushing contact info.
- Share feedback privately. People are not publicly rated.
